As a USDA-inspected processor, T&E Meats works with farmers throughout Virginia to deliver exceptional local meats to local tables, farmers markets, restaurants, and retail establishments.
We understand the issues and needs of producers trying to develop high quality, ecologically-grown artisanal meat sources outside of the industrial paradigm. We work with you to hang and process your meats to your cutting instructions and processing specifications. This includes sausage making instructions, with a variety of available shapes, sizes, and flavors. Growers can use our standard labels or we can help you to develop your own. Growers can have their meats handsomely packaged in vacuum-packs per their instructions.
Our capable staff can handle larger volumes than typical small custom houses are able to do. We can slaughter and process up to 20 head of beef at a time, occassionally more. If you are interested in processing larger quantities at a time, please give us a call to discuss how we would cut and pack it.
Local Meat Services
We sell local meats under our own "True & Essential" label in addition to processing for growers under their own labels. Hogs, lambs, steers, goats, and bison are brought in live, humanely slaughtered at T&E, and processed by our expert meat cutting staff.
We source animals from reputable farmers whose animals are raised to our protocols without hormones and not fed antibiotics. Our customers include individuals, schools, and chefs.
Delivery Service
T&E Meats has refrigerated trucks. We have the ability to deliver meats for you, either back to your farm or to another end destination. In the summer, we provide special service to lawn parties, Ruritan Club picnics, and other special events.
